Clara, 30 years old, has been living for the past 6 years in a small Zen temple, Fumonken, in Kyoto. She is married to a Buddhist monk, Dossan, 45, and they have just had a child, Hanna. Japanese society is not very welcoming to foreigners who wish to reside here. Clara already knows that even her daughter will never be fully considered Japanese. But, a former student of Sciences Po, she is happy and in love, living a declining lifestyle that suits her well. Even if she sometimes misses Paris, her hometown.
