Meditation
New York
Ten years ago, two Buddhist New Yorkers, Koshin and Chodo, as a couple, founded a center for end-of-life accompaniment, based on listening and meditation (zencare.org). They train professionals and volunteers in another approach in palliative care services: meditation would be a valuable aid in managing the pain and anxieties that everyone may feel. They encourage these trained people to visit patients at the end of life, such as Ronnie, at a clinic in New York City.
