Confined agriculture
Drôme, 2020
In March 2020, when a confinement is decreed throughout France, farmers are worried. Indeed, with spring usually comes the first harvests, the first lactations … with the closure of markets and the impossibility for many to bring their seasonal workers, the fear of a big mess is very present. In the Drôme Provençale, professionals organize themselves as best they can: wholesale sales for some, to make a place for themselves in supermarkets that have remained open, or setting up take-away sales in disinfected racks for others. Further south, in Carpentras, strawberry growers are calling for a moratorium on importing Spanish produce.
